Everything drivers actually ask.
Pink slips, pre-purchase inspections, booking, payment, coverage and what happens after. Straight answers, no upsell.
Pink Slip / eSafety Check
- 01
- A pink slip — officially the NSW eSafety Check — is a safety inspection required to renew registration on light vehicles more than five years old. We lodge the result electronically with Transport for NSW.
- 02
- $179 flat. Same price for cars, SUVs, utes, vans, motorcycles, trailers and caravans. No 'mobile fee', no vehicle-type surcharge, GST inclusive.
- 03
- Usually 20 to 30 minutes on-site. Trailers and bikes are often quicker. We lodge the result to TfNSW before leaving so you can renew rego immediately.
- 04
- You'll get a written report listing exactly what needs attention. If it's a small fix we can do on the spot — like a bulb or wiper — we'll sort it for you. For bigger work, fix it at your mechanic of choice, then bring it back within 14 days for a free re-inspection of the failed items.
- 05
- Generally no — light vehicles under five years old don't require an eSafety Check for renewal. Check your Service NSW renewal notice or ring us if you're unsure.
- 06
- We inspect brakes, tyres, steering, suspension, lights, seatbelts, body rust, chassis, windscreen, wipers, mirrors and other safety-related items according to Transport for NSW standards.
- 07
- Not currently. We focus on the light-vehicle eSafety Check (under 4.5 tonne). Blue slips (unregistered vehicle inspections) and heavy vehicle checks are separate authorities.
- 08
- Immediately after a pass. The result is submitted electronically to TfNSW before our examiner leaves, so you can renew your registration online straight away.
- 09
- Yes. $179 covers all light vehicles under 4.5 tonne — passenger cars, SUVs, utes, vans, motorcycles, trailers and caravans.
- 10
- You get a digital receipt from us and the inspection result is lodged with TfNSW. You won't receive a physical pink slip — it's all electronic now.

Pre-Purchase Vehicle Inspection
- 11
- It's an independent, on-site inspection of a used car before you buy it. We check the mechanical, electrical, structural and cosmetic condition so you know exactly what you're purchasing.
- 12
- $280 inc GST. One fixed price for a comprehensive inspection anywhere in Sydney — no hidden travel fees or vehicle-type surcharges.
- 13
- You get an instant on-the-spot written report handed to you the moment the inspection wraps up — no waiting, no PDF attachments, no email delays.
- 14
- Ideally yes, so we can access keys, the engine bay, boot and underbody. If the seller can't attend, we can arrange access with their permission and your listing details.
- 15
- Seller name, phone number and the listing URL if you found the car online. This helps us coordinate access and confirm the vehicle location.
- 16
- No. A pre-purchase inspection is an independent assessment of the vehicle's condition at that point in time. It helps you make an informed decision, but it is not a warranty or guarantee.
- 17

- 18
- Typically 45 to 75 minutes depending on the vehicle size, condition and access. Larger 4WDs or cars needing underbody checks may take a little longer.
- 19

Coverage & Mobile Service
- 29
- Both. Mobile is our default across Greater Sydney — home, work, apartment carpark. Workshop appointments are also available.
- 30
- We cover most of Greater Sydney for pink slips. Use the suburb checker on our pink slip page to confirm your area, or contact us if your suburb isn't listed.
- 31
- If we don't currently cover your suburb for pink slips, you can still book our mobile pre-purchase inspection service (available all over Sydney) or call us to check nearby coverage.
- 32
- Yes. As long as we have safe access, a flat surface and permission to be on the property, we can inspect your car at work, home or another convenient location.
- 33
- For pink slips, you or a nominated person should be available with the keys and registration papers. For pre-purchase inspections, seller access is usually required.
- 34
- Your registration papers, driver's licence, and a set of keys. That's it. We'll do the rest.
- 35
- Sometimes, if there's enough height, light and ventilation. We may ask to move the vehicle to street level if the space isn't suitable for a safe inspection.

- 38
- A pink slip inspection result is valid for six months from the date of issue for registration renewal purposes.
