FAQ

Straight answers before you book.

Still unsure? Call 02 8014 0824 — a real inspector will pick up.

Do I need a pink slip?

Yes, if your vehicle is 5 years or older, registered in NSW, and under 4.5 t GVM. Trailers over 250 kg unladen need one too. TfNSW won't renew your rego without it.

How long does it take?

Usually 20 to 30 minutes for cars, SUVs and utes. Motorcycles and trailers are quicker. We book generous windows so nothing is rushed.

Will you come to my home or work?

Yes — mobile call-out is included in the $179 across most of Greater Sydney. Just tell us where the car will be.

What if my car fails?

If it's a minor item — bulb, wiper, tyre — fix it and come back within 14 days for a free re-inspection. For anything bigger we give you a written list to take to your mechanic.

Do you fix things on the spot?

If it's small and safe to sort in five minutes — a bulb, a wiper, a basic adjustment — yes, no charge. For bigger repairs we're a licensed inspector, not a workshop.

Can I drive if my rego is expired?

Up to 21 days after expiry you're still legal to drive. Between 21 days and 3 months you can only drive to and from a nominated inspection station. Over 3 months, rego is cancelled — you'll need an unregistered permit and a Blue Slip.

How is the result lodged?

Electronically to Transport for NSW the moment you pass — usually within minutes. You then renew online at service.nsw.gov.au. No paper slip.

Pink Slip vs Blue Slip — which do I need?

Pink Slip = annual renewal for a currently-registered vehicle. Blue Slip = unregistered vehicle re-entering rego, interstate transfers, and written-off repairs. If in doubt, call us and we'll tell you straight.
