Terms of Service
Last updated · 25 July 2026
These terms govern your use of nswpinkslip.com.au and any inspection booked with NSW Pink Slip. By booking, you agree to them.
1. Our services
We offer two services:
- NSW Pink Slip ($179 flat inc GST) — an authorised NSW eSafety Check for light vehicles under 4.5 tonne. The pass result is lodged electronically with Transport for NSW.
- Pre-Purchase Inspection ($280 flat inc GST) — an independent pre-purchase mechanical and safety assessment, delivered as an on-the-spot written report. This is not an eSafety Check and is not lodged with TfNSW.
2. What a pink slip is (and isn't)
A pink slip is a statutory safety inspection under the NSW eSafety Check scheme — it confirms the vehicle meets minimum roadworthy standards on the day of inspection. It is not a mechanical warranty, a defect-free guarantee, or a substitute for regular servicing. Small on-the-spot fixes we perform (e.g. a blown bulb, wiper blade, minor adjustment) do not extend into a broader mechanical warranty.
3. Bookings and payment
- Bookings are confirmed when payment succeeds. Your card is charged at that time.
- We'll email you a confirmation and receipt immediately.
- Prices include GST. There is no call-out fee and no weekend surcharge.
- We may reschedule if weather, safety or access make the inspection unsafe or impossible on the day.
4. Cancellations and refunds
The full policy lives at Refund & Cancellation. In short: free cancel or reschedule up to 2 hours before your booking, full refund if we don't attend, and a free re-inspection within 14 days if you fail on a minor item you fix yourself.
5. Your responsibilities
- Give us safe, legal access to the vehicle at the booked address.
- Make sure the vehicle is registered (or eligible for renewal) and has current fuel and battery.
- Provide accurate vehicle and contact details. Wrong details may cause us to cancel or reject the booking.
6. Fail results and re-inspection
If your vehicle fails, we issue a pass-with-defect list. You can fix the items and either return for a free re-inspection within 14 days on minor items, or book a fresh full inspection after 14 days. We reserve the right to charge if the failure involves items outside the eSafety scope or if re-inspection requires substantial re-work.
7. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to a booking is capped at the amount you paid for that booking. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
8. Reports (pre-purchase)
Pre-purchase reports reflect the vehicle's observable condition at the time of inspection. They are not a warranty on future performance and cannot guarantee the absence of latent defects. Use the report as one input into your buying decision.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Bookings are governed by the version live at the time of booking.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of NSW courts.
