Book your pink slip before Christmas — why December fills fast
Local & Seasonal · 3 min read

There's a predictable spike in pink slip bookings from mid-November through Christmas Eve as motorists tick off compliance before holiday travel. Availability tightens sharply in the final two weeks. If your renewal is due before mid-January, book by the end of November.

Why it spikes

Two overlapping drivers: renewal windows for anyone with an original registration date around Christmas cluster in this month, and holiday travellers want a valid pink slip before a long interstate drive. Combined effect: mobile inspectors get booked out 10–14 days in advance from about the second week of December.

How we schedule the pre-Christmas rush

We extend hours to 7pm across the metro area and add capacity for the last two weeks of December. Boxing Day is closed; back to normal from 27 December. New Year's Day closed; back to normal from 2 January.

Common questions

Frequently asked.

Do you inspect on public holidays?
Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day only are closed. All other public holidays we work normal hours.
What if I miss my renewal over the holidays?
You have 3 months of grace from expiry to renew on a pink slip. Miss that and it's a blue slip — book us in the first week of January instead of leaving it.
