Book your pink slip before Christmas — why December fills fast
December is the busiest month for pink slip inspections in NSW. Book early or risk a January scramble.

There's a predictable spike in pink slip bookings from mid-November through Christmas Eve as motorists tick off compliance before holiday travel. Availability tightens sharply in the final two weeks. If your renewal is due before mid-January, book by the end of November.
Why it spikes
Two overlapping drivers: renewal windows for anyone with an original registration date around Christmas cluster in this month, and holiday travellers want a valid pink slip before a long interstate drive. Combined effect: mobile inspectors get booked out 10–14 days in advance from about the second week of December.
How we schedule the pre-Christmas rush
We extend hours to 7pm across the metro area and add capacity for the last two weeks of December. Boxing Day is closed; back to normal from 27 December. New Year's Day closed; back to normal from 2 January.
Frequently asked.
- Do you inspect on public holidays?
- Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day only are closed. All other public holidays we work normal hours.
- What if I miss my renewal over the holidays?
- You have 3 months of grace from expiry to renew on a pink slip. Miss that and it's a blue slip — book us in the first week of January instead of leaving it.
