Pink Slip Manly & Northern Beaches 2026 — Mobile eSafety Check at Your Driveway

Manly and the surrounding Northern Beaches suburbs have a specific pink slip problem: fewer AIS stations per capita than Sydney's west, congested arterial roads, and coastal salt-air corrosion that catches drivers out on inspection day. A mobile inspector at your driveway solves all three. Flat $179 inc GST, no travel surcharge, weekends included.

Manly and the Northern Beaches sit between two workshop deserts: the Spit Bridge to the south and the Wakehurst Parkway to the west. During peak periods, a workshop pink slip in Brookvale can easily consume half a day once you factor in driving there, sitting through the inspection, and the trip home. A mobile pink slip removes the whole trip: we arrive at your Manly, Freshwater, Curl Curl, Dee Why, Brookvale, Balgowlah, Seaforth, Fairlight or Queenscliff driveway, run the eSafety Check on-site, lodge to Service NSW before we leave, and take payment at your kerb.

Why mobile pink slip is a stronger fit on the Northern Beaches

  1. Fewer AIS stations per capita than Western Sydney — driving to one during business hours competes with beach traffic and school runs.
  2. Congested arterials (Pittwater Road, Warringah Road, Condamine Street) turn a 5 km trip into 40 minutes each way at peak.
  3. Coastal salt air accelerates certain fail items (surface rust on brake calipers, wiper blade degradation, headlight lens oxidation) — we can advise on the spot without you leaving the driveway.
  4. Home / office / apartment building car park inspections are all workable — we bring the tools to you.
  5. Weekend and public holiday availability at no surcharge — 7am–7pm, 7 days a week.

Coastal-specific pink slip items to check the night before

Northern Beaches vehicles have three failure patterns we see more frequently than inland Sydney:

  • Wiper blades degraded by UV and salt spray — expect 8–10 months per set instead of the 12 you'd get inland.
  • Rusted brake caliper surfaces on cars parked at Manly / Queenscliff / Palm Beach seafront. Cosmetic surface rust doesn't fail; perforated caliper carriers or seized pistons do.
  • Headlight lens oxidation — the UV load on north-facing driveways in Freshwater, Curl Curl and Dee Why yellows lenses faster. A $25 lens restoration kit fixes most cases before the inspection.
  • Windscreen edge chips from the sandy road surface — anything longer than 30mm in the passenger's sweep area fails.
  • Seatbelt retractor jamming from beach sand — pull each belt to full extension and vacuum any grit visible at the retractor mouth.

What we bring to your Northern Beaches driveway

  • Full AIS diagnostic scanner (OBD-II for post-2020 vehicles).
  • Wheel-off brake pad measurement gauge.
  • Paint depth gauge and torch for structural checks.
  • Service NSW electronic lodgement tablet.
  • Card, tap-and-go, Apple Pay and Google Pay payment terminal.
  • A written report on the day, PDF emailed within an hour.

Timing and access

We publish live availability in the booking flow — 30-minute slots between 7am and 7pm, 7 days a week. Palm Beach and Avalon we prefer to schedule earlier in the day to avoid ferry traffic on Barrenjoey Road. Apartment residents in Manly and Dee Why: any driveway, garage bay or street parking with two clear metres around the car works.

If you fail — free re-inspection within 14 days

A fail on the day isn't lodged against your rego. You have 14 days to have the fail items fixed by whichever mechanic you prefer, and we come back for a free re-inspection to verify. No new call-out fee, no admin charge, no separate lodgement fee.

Common questions

Frequently asked.

Do you do mobile pink slips in Manly?
Yes — mobile pink slips at any Manly, Fairlight, Balgowlah, Seaforth, Freshwater, Curl Curl, Dee Why, Brookvale, Collaroy, Narrabeen, Mona Vale, Newport, Avalon and Palm Beach address. Flat $179 inc GST, same-day or next-day slots.
Is a mobile pink slip legal in NSW?
Yes — mobile inspectors operate under the same Authorised Inspection Scheme (AIS) as fixed workshops, with the same Transport for NSW licensing. Results are lodged electronically to Service NSW before we leave.
How much does a pink slip cost on the Northern Beaches?
Our flat rate is $179 inc GST across all Northern Beaches suburbs. No travel surcharge, no weekend loading, no lodgement fee.
How long does the inspection take?
20–30 minutes for a standard passenger car with no fail items, plus 5 minutes for electronic lodgement.
Do you work weekends and public holidays on the Northern Beaches?
Yes — 7am to 7pm, 7 days a week, at the same $179 flat rate.
Can you inspect at my apartment building in Dee Why or Manly?
Yes — any garage bay, visitor spot or nearby street parking with two clear metres around the car works.
What happens if my car fails?
We hand you an itemised report of the fail items so you can have them fixed by whichever mechanic you prefer, then we come back for a free re-inspection within 14 days at no additional charge.
Do you cover Avalon and Palm Beach?
Yes — we prefer to schedule Palm Beach and Avalon earlier in the day to avoid Barrenjoey Road traffic. Same flat rate.
Can I pay by Afterpay?
Yes — Afterpay is offered at online checkout on the $179. Split into four instalments of about $45, no interest, no fees.
Do I need to be home during the inspection?
Preferred but not essential. If you can leave the car unlocked with the keys accessible in a safe place and be reachable by phone, we can complete the inspection while you're at work.
Is a service required before the pink slip?
No — a service and a pink slip are different things. Pink slip checks safety items only; a service covers oil, filters and preventive maintenance not on the eSafety Check list.
Do you inspect motorcycles or trailers on the Northern Beaches?
Motorcycles and trailers must be inspected at a fixed AIS station, not mobile. Our mobile service covers passenger cars, SUVs, utes and light commercial vehicles up to 4.5t.
