The Northern Beaches has essentially one road in and one road out for most of the peninsula. Once you're up in Avalon or Palm Beach, driving all the way back to a Brookvale or Dee Why workshop for a pink slip is a serious commitment of time — an hour there, an hour or two waiting, an hour back. Mobile inspection eliminates that trip entirely — we drive up the peninsula so you don't have to drive down. Same certificate, same electronic lodgement to Service NSW, done in your driveway in 20–30 minutes.

Northern Beaches coverage

Full peninsula coverage from Manly to Palm Beach — no travel surcharge in any of these postcodes:

  • Manly (2095), Manly Vale, Fairlight, Balgowlah, Balgowlah Heights, Seaforth, Clontarf
  • Freshwater (2096), Curl Curl, North Curl Curl, Dee Why (2099), Cromer, Collaroy, Narrabeen, North Narrabeen
  • Brookvale (2100), Warringah, Beacon Hill, Allambie Heights, Frenchs Forest, Belrose, Forestville
  • Warriewood, Mona Vale (2103), Bayview, Church Point, Elanora Heights, Ingleside
  • Newport, Bilgola, Avalon Beach (2107), Whale Beach, Palm Beach (2108)
  • Terrey Hills, Duffys Forest (western fringe)

Where we inspect on the Northern Beaches

  • Home driveways from Manly to Palm Beach — the standard.
  • Northern Beaches Hospital (Frenchs Forest) staff and visitor car parks with venue approval.
  • Brookvale industrial estate — tradie utes and vans in the yard.
  • Manly and Dee Why beachfront apartment blocks (with strata approval for a 30-minute basement or visitor bay slot).
  • Manly Wharf commercial precinct workplaces.
  • Northern Beaches Council depots (with venue approval).
  • Boat and trailer bookings at Church Point, Newport marina and Palm Beach.

Fixed pricing: $179 inc GST

Flat $179 inclusive of everything:

  • Mobile call-out to any Northern Beaches address.
  • The eSafety Check itself (regulated maximum $51 at any workshop).
  • Electronic Service NSW lodgement on the spot.
  • Free 14-day return re-check on any fixable fail.
  • Valid 6 months from issue.

No travel surcharge from Manly to Palm Beach — same price whether you're in Fairlight or Whale Beach. Pre-purchase inspection also available: flat $280 inc GST at the seller's Northern Beaches address.

Why Northern Beaches drivers use mobile

  • The peninsula's geography makes workshop trips genuinely time-expensive — a Palm Beach resident loses 90+ minutes each way just to get to a Brookvale workshop.
  • Northern Beaches Hospital shift workers use us for break-time inspections in the staff car park.
  • Brookvale industrial tradies book after-hours or Saturday morning inspections at the yard.
  • Northern Beaches Council staff and depots book fleet-day inspections.
  • Retirees in Avalon, Palm Beach and Newport prefer a home visit to a workshop trip.
  • Beach-facing apartment residents in Manly, Dee Why, Collaroy avoid moving a beach-parked car for a workshop trip.

Availability across the peninsula

7 days a week, 7am–7pm. Booking pattern:

  • Weekdays — same-day usually available if booked before 11am for peninsula addresses (we plan the day's route to minimise driving).
  • Saturdays and Sundays — 2–3 days ahead; northern-peninsula weekend slots book slightly faster because we bundle nearby jobs.
  • Early morning (7am–9am) is popular with commuters into the CBD before the Spit Bridge traffic.
  • Late afternoon (4pm–7pm) works for parents around school pickup.

Common Northern Beaches pink slip scenarios

  • Palm Beach retiree — pink slip in the driveway, no drive down the peninsula, no morning lost.
  • Avalon family with two cars — both done back-to-back Saturday morning, then off to the beach.
  • Northern Beaches Hospital nurse — 7am pink slip in the staff car park after a night shift.
  • Brookvale tradie — 6am pink slip on the ute before the day's jobs start.
  • Manly apartment couple — pink slip in the strata basement, meets us at the buzzer.
  • Church Point boat owner — boat trailer inspection at the ramp during a maintenance day.

Northern Beaches pink slip common fails

  • Corroded brake discs on beach-parked cars — salt air accelerates rust, particularly for coastal Collaroy, Dee Why, Freshwater, Manly.
  • Perished tyres on second cars that sit for weeks between beach outings.
  • Cracked windscreens from Spit Bridge and Wakehurst Parkway highway grit.
  • Battery health on infrequent-use cars (not a pink slip fail but often the reason we need a jump start first).
  • Failed brake and indicator bulbs — cheap fix but a common first-attempt fail.

Any Brookvale or Mona Vale mechanic can rectify these. Bring the car back within 14 days for the free re-check.

Common questions

Frequently asked.

How much is a pink slip on the Northern Beaches?
Flat $179 inc GST mobile at your address — same price from Manly to Palm Beach, no travel surcharge for further-north suburbs.
Do you really come all the way to Palm Beach?
Yes — Palm Beach, Whale Beach, Avalon Beach, Bilgola and every peninsula suburb are standard call-out zones. Same $179 flat rate as inner Manly.
Can you inspect at Northern Beaches Hospital in Frenchs Forest?
Yes — staff and visitor car parks with the site's parking approval. Common during shift breaks.
How long does the inspection take?
20–30 minutes on the car for a standard passenger vehicle. Certificate lodged electronically to Service NSW within minutes of pass.
Do you inspect trailers and boats on the Northern Beaches?
Yes — boat trailers, box trailers and caravans are common Northern Beaches bookings. Trailer pricing depends on brakes.
Do you do pre-purchase inspections on the Northern Beaches?
Yes — flat $280 inc GST at any private seller or dealer address across the Northern Beaches.
Do you work weekends on the peninsula?
Yes — 7 days a week, 7am–7pm. We often bundle nearby weekend jobs; if you're flexible on time we may be able to offer sooner.
Can I book from Bundeena or the Central Coast?
Bundeena and the far northern fringe are covered subject to Royal National Park / access logistics. Central Coast is separate coverage — check the booking form for confirmation.
What if my car has been beach-parked for years?
Very common on the peninsula. Salt corrosion on brakes and battery health are the two most common issues. We carry a jump pack and a written report so any mechanic can fix issues fast.
Can you inspect on a beachfront street bay in Manly?
Yes — kerbside inspection with cones is standard, subject to time-limited parking. We work within the meter time.
What if my car fails?
You get a written list of pass and fail items. Any local mechanic can rectify. Bring the car back within 14 days for a free re-check.
Do you accept card payment?
Yes — card, tap, PayID and cash all accepted at the vehicle. Payment due on completion of a successful inspection.
